One of the most frequent questions throughout Multilink’s nine issue run as a downloadable pdf, was why we weren’t creating a physical version for people to collect.

The costs involved in printing and distribution were beyond our capacity at the time but as the project was wrapping up I knew I wanted to mark it with something tangible. A couple of year later in 2009, that itch was finally scratched with the release of Capsule 01, a one-off physical volume of collected artwork that included a handful of artists previously featured in Multilink, alongside some new discoveries and old favourites that never made it into the magazine.

From the matte laminate cover with its additional spot varnish elements, to the heavy stock used throughout, it was an indulgent exercise from the start and sadly never quite recouped the costs and time spent putting it together. Nevertheless, the result was a beautiful artefact, uncompromising in its execution, and a cathartic tribute to the legacy of Multilink.
